Caring foryour jewellery
Gold is passed down from generation to generation — as long as you take care of it. Our tips for preserving the brilliance of your Tariki pieces.
Cleaning gold
Regular cleaning keeps your jewellery shining:
Prepare a bowl of lukewarm water with a few drops of mild soap (unscented dish soap).
Soak your piece for 15 to 20 minutes.
Gently clean with a soft-bristled toothbrush to reach the crevices.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Dry carefully with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Caring for precious stones
Zircons and precious stones pick up oils and dust, which can dull their brilliance. Clean them regularly using the method above, avoid ultrasonic cleaners for fragile stones (opals, emeralds, pearls), and have the settings checked by a professional jeweller once a year.
What damages your jewellery
Proper storage
Store each piece separately in its case or a soft fabric pouch to avoid scratches. Avoid humidity and direct sunlight, keep your pieces in a cool, dry place, and store chains laid flat to prevent knots.
Professional maintenance
We recommend having your jewellery cleaned and inspected by a professional at least once a year: checking the settings, polishing the gold, and catching any wear before it becomes a problem.
