Refund policy

Refund and Return Policy

Bijouterie Tariki inc. sells 18K gold jewellery handcrafted in our family workshop in Casablanca, then imported and shipped from Montreal. Part of our catalogue is made to order: this policy therefore draws a clear distinction between pieces available in the showcase and pieces made to a custom size.

Showcase pieces: 30 days

A showcase piece is a piece already made, sold in its existing size. You have 30 days from receipt to request a return.

  • The piece must come back unworn, in its original condition, with its packaging and certificate.
  • Return shipping costs are borne by the customer. We provide the shipping instructions, but we do not supply a prepaid return label.
  • The return parcel remains your responsibility until we receive it: use a tracked and insured shipment.
  • The refund is issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of receipt and inspection of the piece.

Pieces made for you

Two of our three offers produce a piece made especially for you: a showcase piece remade to your size, and a piece you design yourself from the “Create your rare pearl” page. To these is added any piece personalised by an engraving or a particular choice of stone.

Once production has begun at the workshop, none of these pieces can be returned or refunded. It exists only because you ordered it: we cannot resell it.

You may cancel free of charge as long as production has not started. Write to us as soon as possible: we will confirm in writing whether your order can still be cancelled.

For a piece you design, a 50% deposit confirms the order and locks in the gold price of the day it is received. The balance is settled before shipping, once the piece has been weighed and its final price determined. If you cancel before production begins, the deposit is refunded to you in full. The quote itself is always without obligation.

Tariki Warranty: 1 year

Every piece of jewellery is guaranteed one year from the date your order is received, on presentation of your invoice. This warranty applies to showcase pieces as well as to pieces made to a custom size, and it runs beyond the 30-day return period.

What the warranty covers

  • Manufacturing defects: soldering, clasp, a setting faulty from the outset, and any other defect found on the piece.
  • Weight conformity: the weight stated on the product page is guaranteed, the piece being weighed at the workshop before shipping.
  • Authenticity of the gold: hallmarked 18K gold, attested by the certificate of authenticity enclosed with every order.

What the warranty does not cover

  • normal wear, including everyday scratches;
  • damage caused by impact or deformation;
  • contact with chemical products;
  • a repair, resizing or modification carried out by a third party;
  • loss and theft.

How to make a claim

  • Write to us at info@tarikijewellery.com with your order number and photographs of the piece.
  • Our workshop examines your request and replies within 2 to 3 business days.
  • If the defect is covered, we repair or replace the piece, or refund you depending on the nature of the defect. Return shipping is arranged with you, insured, at our expense.

This warranty is in addition to the legal warranty of quality provided by Quebec's Consumer Protection Act; it does not replace or restrict it.

Gold weight adjustment: what may be charged or refunded

This is the most important point of this policy. The price of a piece made to a custom size depends on the quantity of gold used, and that quantity is known exactly only once the piece is finished.

  • The price shown at the time of order is an estimate, calculated on the gold weight expected for your size.
  • After manufacture, the piece is weighed.
  • If the actual weight is above the estimate, a supplementary invoice is sent to you for the difference. If the actual weight is below, a refund is issued to you for the difference.
  • The difference is calculated at the same per-gram rate as the one used for the displayed price. No other amount, margin or additional fee is added to this adjustment.
  • This adjustment is always sent to you before shipping, never after. You therefore know the final amount before the parcel leaves Montreal.

If the supplementary invoice does not suit you, tell us: we will look for a solution with you rather than ship a piece whose final price you do not accept.

Refused or unclaimed order

If a parcel is returned to us because it was not claimed or because the address you provided was incorrect, we will contact you to arrange a new shipment, the cost of which is then borne by you, or a refund. As the initial shipping was offered to you free of charge, that refund is issued after deduction of the costs actually incurred for the outbound shipment and its return, the details of which we will provide to you.
